According to Secret Footballer, Chelsea is currently in the process of being sold to British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe for £2b.
I’m hearing that Chelsea football club is in the process of being sold to Jim Radcliffe for £2bn.

Ratcliffe was a chemical engineer who became a financier and industrialist.
He is also the chairman and chief executive officer of the Ineos chemicals group, which he founded in 1998.
Also, on May 13th 2018 Ratcliffe was named the richest person in the UK with his net worth said to be in the region of £21.05 billion and now looks like he wants to invest some of his fortune in Chelsea FC, who he is a fan of.
Back in April, the Moscow Times revealed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich lost around $534 million in just 24 hours.
This was because the United States imposed major sanctions against Russian businessmen, companies and government officials, striking at allies of President Vladimir Putin in one of Washington’s most aggressive moves to punish Moscow for its alleged meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.
As a result, Abramovich has lost some of his wealth and it also may have pushed him into selling Chelsea.
What does this mean for Chelsea?
First off, how reliable is the Secret Footballer? Well, that looks like being a fascinating discussion after this revelation.
Certainly, the Secret Footballer has good contacts in the professional game as his raft of books on the subject prove.
Rumours regarding Roman Abramovich’s commitment to Chelsea have been rife ever since his work visa was not continued by the UK government.
Abramovich now lives in Israel officially.
Whoever takes over at Chelsea will have an issue with redeveloping Stamford Bridge. A project that was put on hold this past summer.
Of course, with just two weeks left of the transfer window and Chelsea involved in plenty of transfer rumours, this story about a club sale might not be timed perfectly.
Chelsea’s new boss
Maurizio Sarri was officially announced as Chelsea boss on the 14th of July and had this to say.
‘I am very happy to be coming to Chelsea and the Premier League. It is an exciting new period in my career.
‘I look forward to starting work and meeting the players on Monday ahead of travelling to Australia, where I will be able to get to know the squad and begin our match action.
‘I hope we can provide some entertaining football for our fans, and that we will be competing for trophies at the end of the season, which is what this club deserves.
And now it seems that Chelsea could be set for a new owner this summer as well as a new manager.
