In 2015, I was 215lbs which was the heaviest I've ever been in my entire life. I wasn't happy about my appearance and I was physically unfit. I got a lot of negative remarks about my weight and my appearance and I decided to just change it because I was getting tired of it.
I lurked r/loseit around the same time and decided to absorb all the advice and tips that worked. First, I got myself a gym membership and went to the gym everyday with one break day. I changed my diet completely, I eliminated all junk food from my diet, gave up pop completely and switched to black coffee/water, and reduced my portions overall. I went from consuming 5000-6000 calories a day to 2000-2500 calories a day at that point.
4 months later, I saw progress on the scale. I went from 215lbs to 185lbs. Around that time, school decided to pick up and I gave up going to the gym completely. I ended up just reducing my calories from 2000-2500 to 1200-1500 at that point. 8 months later, I went from 185lbs to 140lbs which was the goal weight I was aiming for! Afterwards, I picked up running and cycling as a hobby and I have maintained my weight ever since.
I went from an XL shirt to an XS shirt, I went from a 36 inch waist to a 28 inch waist and my BMI went from 30.8 to 20.1 and this is all thanks to you guys! 🙂 I have never felt so healthier and fit in my life until now. I really am grateful to r/loseit for all the motivational posts and tips to help me push myself to where I am today.
